How You Can Become A Member Of
Libraries For Democracy
Membership in Libraries For Democracy is free to any person or organization interested in helping make American democracy stronger.
We especially hope every librarian and library in America will join Libraries For Democracy.
Anyone can use the public section of the LFD website. However, only members may use the Members section of the website. The Members section is designed primarily to help librarians find resources to develop democracy & social issues-oriented programs in libraries.
LFD will be a powerful voice for democracy only because of the participation of hundreds of librarians and library supporters who believe as we do that libraries are a bulwark of American democracy.

Only individual members:
- will have the opportunity to contribute ideas and information to LFD for posting on the website.
- may enter and vote in our contests.
- will be eligible for prizes, free offers, and special discounts on selected products and services.

Each Library and Institutional member of LFD will receive:
- an LFD icon for your computers linking them directly to the LFD website.
- a certificate designating your organization as an LFD American Democracy Center. One member Democracy Center will be featured on the LFD Members page each week.
- discounts on products and services including vendors and publishers dealing in democracy-related products.
